How are lab grown diamonds made ?
Lab-grown diamonds are created using advanced technological processes that replicate the natural conditions under which diamonds form over billions of years beneath the Earth's surface. There are two primary methods for creating lab-grown diamonds: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD).

CVD
Chemical Vapor Deposition
The CVD process starts with a thin slice of diamond seed, which is placed in a sealed chamber and heated to around 800°C (about 1,472°F). The chamber is filled with a gas that contains carbon, such as methane, and other gases. When the gases are activated, typically by a microwave source, the molecular bonds of the gases break, and pure carbon adheres to the diamond seed, gradually forming a diamond layer by layer. This process can take several weeks, depending on the desired size and quality of the diamond.

Diamond Certification
Lab grown diamonds undergo a grading and certification system just like mined stones. These are graded by independent diamond certification labs based on their cut, clarity, color, and carat (the 4C’s). The Ingenuity Diamonds’ lab created diamonds are certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI).
IGI
The IGI Diamond Certificate, issued by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), is a document that provides a detailed analysis of a diamond's characteristics and quality.
